👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Pink Sponge
- Preheat oven to 160°C Fan / 180°C / 350°F / Gas 4. Grease and line a 2lb loaf tin.
- Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, then whisk until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the flour, then add pink food coloring until you achieve a strong pink hue.
- Pour into the prepared tin and bake for ~50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely. Trim the ends and cut the loaf into even slices, about the thickness of your heart-shaped cookie cutter.
- Use the cookie cutter to stamp a heart shape from each slice. Set hearts aside.
