Hidden Heart Chocolate Loaf Cake with Buttercream Frosting

  1. In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy.
  2. Add the eggs and milk, mixing until smooth.
  3. Sift together flour, cocoa, and baking powder, then stir into the wet ingredients.
  4. Grease and line the loaf tin again. Add a thin layer of chocolate batter to the base of the tin.
  5. Carefully stack the pink hearts upright in a row down the center of the tin.
  6. Gently spoon or pipe the remaining chocolate batter around and over the pink hearts until covered.
  7. Bake at 160°C Fan / 180°C for about 50 minutes, or until a skewer inserted at the side comes out clean. Cool completely.

3️⃣ Make the Buttercream

  1. Beat the butter, icing sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  2. Add the melted chocolate and mix until fluffy. If too thick, add a little more milk.
  3. Spread or pipe the frosting over the cooled loaf. Decorate with heart sprinkles if desired.
