Yarrow – a natural ally of health and beauty

Achillea millefolium , or common yarrow, is an inconspicuous plant from the Asteraceae family that has enjoyed a long tradition in folk medicine. It can be found almost everywhere – in meadows, fields, along roadsides, and in gardens. Although it may look unassuming, it conceals a wealth of active substances and has a wide range of medicinal uses.

The ancient Greeks already appreciated its power – according to legend, Achilles himself used yarrow to dress the wounds of his warriors during the Trojan War.

Its distinctive, feathery leaves and small white or pinkish flowers make it easy to recognize. However, it’s not just the plant’s beauty, but its effects that have kept it in home medicine cabinets for generations.
