Ingredients
Scale
1 large sourdough bread bowl
½ lb cooked shrimp, chopped
½ lb lump crab meat
1 cupshredded mozzarella cheese
½ cupcream cheese, softened
⅓ cupmayonnaise
¼ cupgreen onions, finely chopped
2garlic cloves, minced
1 tspOld Bay seasoning
½ tspsmoked paprika
1 tbsplemon juice
Instructions
1. Prep the Bread Bowl (5 min)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Carefully hollow out the sourdough bread, leaving a ½-inch thick shell. Save the removed bread for dipping.
2. Mix the Filling (10 min)
In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, mozzarella, green onions, garlic, Old Bay, smoked paprika, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth.
Gently fold in the shrimp and crab meat to avoid breaking up the crab too much.
3. Fill & Bake (25 min)
Spoon the seafood mixture into the bread bowl, packing it evenly.
Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden and the filling is bubbly.
4. Serve Warm
Garnish with extra green onions and serve immediately with the reserved bread chunks or crackers for dipping.
Notes
Use fresh crab meat for the best flavor, but canned or imitation crab works in a pinch.
For extra richness, add a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on top before baking.
If you prefer a spicier kick, add a dash of hot sauce or cayenne pepper to the filling.
Don’t overmix the seafood to keep the texture delicate.
