Inspired by fresh coastal flavors and perfect for sharing, this fun and spicy dish turns sushi night into a delicious adventure. Layer, press, and enjoy—no chopsticks required!

  • 1 cup cooked sushi rice

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp sugar

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp sriracha (adjust to taste)

  • 1 avocado, diced

  • 1/2 cucumber, diced

  • 1 tsp soy sauce

  • 1 sheet nori, cut into small squares (optional)

  • Sesame seeds & green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix warm rice with vinegar, sugar, and salt. Let cool.

  • Mix shrimp with mayonnaise and sriracha in another bowl.

  • In a ring mold or small bowl lined with plastic wrap, layer:

    • 1/4 cup seasoned rice (press firmly)

    • Spoonful of cucumber and avocado

    • Spicy shrimp mix on top

  • Gently lift the mold or flip onto a plate if using a bowl.

  • Garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, and a drizzle of soy sauce.

Notes

  • Chill stacks before serving for a firmer shape.

  • Add a nori square at the bottom for a sushi-roll crunch.
