Southern Peach Bread: A Deliciously Easy Recipe Packed with Flavor

SOUTHERN PEACH BREAD

This Southern Peach Bread brings back memories of my aunt’s farmhouse kitchen, where the scent of ripe peaches baking in the oven meant something special was on the way. Warm, moist, and full of fruity goodness, this bread is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon treat with a cup of coffee. Make a loaf, share a slice, and enjoy a sweet taste of Southern comfort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups peeled, diced fresh peaches

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  • In another large bowl, beat eggs, oil, sugars, and vanilla until smooth.

  • Stir dry ingredients into wet until just combined.

  • Gently fold in peaches and nuts if using.

  • Pour batter into the pan and smooth the top.

  • Bake 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  • Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Let the bread rest overnight for even better flavor.

  • If using canned peaches, drain and pat dry to avoid extra moisture.
