Some of the best family dinners come from the easiest recipes. This one is a gem passed down from my daughter, who swears by it for busy weeknights. The chicken becomes tender and full of flavor, and it’s all done in the slow cooker. It’s a dish we enjoy during family game night, served with laughter and love. Give it a try—it just might become your new favorite too!
3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 packet ranch seasoning mix
1 packet taco seasoning
1/2 cup chicken broth
Soft or crunchy taco shells
Optional toppings: shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, avocado, salsa
Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and taco seasoning evenly over the top.
Pour in chicken broth around the sides (not directly on top).
Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks right in the slow cooker.
Stir to mix with the juices and let it soak up all the flavor for 10 more minutes.
Serve in taco shells with your favorite toppings.
Use a liner in your slow cooker for easy cleanup.
Make it creamy by adding a dollop of cream cheese in the last hour of cooking.
Great for meal prep—store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
