Peanuts love sandy, loose, and well-draining soil. If you’re planting in the ground, mix in plenty of compost to enrich the soil. For containers, choose a large, deep pot (at least 12 inches deep) and fill it with a mix of sandy soil and compost.
Planting Tip: Ensure the spot gets 6–8 hours of sunlight per day. Peanuts need full sun to thrive.

Remove the peanuts from the shells just before planting — but do not remove the thin, papery skin around each seed. Plant each seed about 1–2 inches deep and space them 6–8 inches apart. Water lightly after planting.

Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Water regularly, especially during flowering and pegging (when the flower stalks begin to bury into the soil). Avoid overhead watering to reduce fungal risks.
