Ham and Cheese Butter Swim Biscuits

1️⃣ Preheat & Prep

Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Lightly spray a 9×9-inch glass or ceramic baking dish with nonstick spray (preferably one with flour).

2️⃣ Make the Biscuit Dough

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and baking powder.

Pour in the buttermilk and stir until a thick, sticky batter forms. Add more buttermilk if the mixture feels too dry.

Gently fold in the ham and shredded cheese until evenly distributed.

3️⃣ Prepare the Butter Bath

Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or directly in the baking dish (if microwave-safe). Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the baking dish.

4️⃣ Assemble

Spoon the biscuit dough on top of the melted butter. Use a greased hand or spatula to gently press and spread the dough evenly across the pan. Don’t worry if butter runs over the top — that’s part of the magic!

Use a knife to lightly score the dough into 9 squares. This makes slicing easier after baking.

5️⃣ Bake
