Fast Pizza Dough

This homemade quick-rise pizza dough is made with simple pantry ingredients, so pizza night can happen anytime—no need to plan ahead! Perfect for busy weeknights or last-minute cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 to cups (480-540g) all-purpose, pizza, or bread flour
  • 1 tbsp (13g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp (12g) salt
  • 2¼ tsp (7g) Quick Rise Instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 1½ cups (354g) warm water
  • 3 tbsp (39g) olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (if baking immediately).
  2. Mix dry ingredients – In a bowl, whisk 4 cups flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  3. Add wet ingredients – Pour in warm water and olive oil. Mix until combined. If too sticky, add remaining flour (½ cup max).
  4. Knead dough – Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes (or use a stand mixer with a dough hook).
  5. Let dough rise – Place in a greased bowl, cover, and rest for 10-15 min (Quick Rise yeast) or 60-90 min (standard yeast) until doubled.
  6. Divide dough – Split into 2 balls.
  7. Shape & bake – Roll into 10-12” circles, add toppings, and bake for 12-15 min (or 20-22 min for thicker crust).

Freezing Instructions:

  • Coat dough balls in olive oil, wrap in plastic, and seal in a bag.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before using.

Notes

✔ Use warm water (about 110°F) to activate the yeast properly.
✔ Knead well for a smooth, elastic dough.
✔ Adjust flour as needed—dough should be slightly sticky but manageable.
✔ For extra flavor, add garlic or onion powder to the dry mix.
✔ Freeze dough for future use—thaw overnight in the fridge before baking.
