Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box Funfetti cake mix (plus ingredients to prepare the cake)
  • 1 box Jell-O vanilla pudding (plus milk to prepare)
  • 1 box Jell-O cheesecake pudding (plus milk to prepare)
  • 1 package Golden Oreos, crushed
  • Hershey’s pastel eggs (for topping)
  • Peeps (for topping)
  • 2 tubs Cool Whip
  • Neon food dye (optional, for coloring Cool Whip)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake: Bake the Funfetti cake according to the package instructions. Let it cool completely, then cut it into small cubes.
  2. Prepare the Puddings: Make both the vanilla and cheesecake puddings according to the package directions. Chill them in the fridge until set.
  3. Prepare the Cool Whip: If desired, divide the Cool Whip into separate bowls and add a few drops of neon food dye to each to create pastel-colored layers. Mix well.
  4. Assemble the Trifle: In a large trifle dish or clear bowl, layer the ingredients in any order you like. Here’s a suggested order:
    • A layer of Funfetti cake cubes
    • A layer of vanilla pudding
    • A layer of crushed Golden Oreos
    • A layer of colored Cool Whip
    • Repeat the layers until the dish is full, ending with Cool Whip on top.
  5. Decorate: Top the trifle with Hershey’s pastel eggs and Peeps for a festive Easter touch.
  6. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours before serving to let the flavors meld together.

Notes

  • Customize Layers: Feel free to swap out or add layers, like adding fruit (strawberries or bananas) or using different flavors of pudding.
  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the cake and puddings a day in advance to save time. Assemble the trifle a few hours before serving.
  • Kid-Friendly: Let kids help with layering and decorating—it’s a fun activity!
  • No Trifle Dish? Use a clear glass bowl or individual serving cups for a similar effect.
