Easter Bunny Chow: The Ultimate Festive Treat for Your Holiday Celebrations

Easter Bunny Chow

Easter Bunny Chow is a playful twist on the classic “puppy chow” or “muddy buddies” snack mix. It features Chex cereal coated in a rich peanut butter and chocolate mixture, dusted with powdered sugar, and loaded with colorful Easter M&Ms and sprinkles. The result is a sweet, crunchy, and irresistibly festive snack that’s perfect for Easter celebrations.

Ingredients

▢ 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter – Adds richness and binds the coating.
▢ 1/4 cup butter – Helps create a smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
▢ 1 cup milk chocolate chips – The base of the sweet chocolate coating.
▢ 1 tsp vanilla extract – Enhances the flavor.
▢ 9 cups Chex cereal – Rice or corn Chex work best for a light, crispy texture.
▢ 2 cups powdered sugar – Gives the classic “dusty” coating.
▢ 1 cup Easter M&Ms – Adds a festive pop of color.
▢ Spring/Easter sprinkles – For extra holiday cheer!

Instructions

Step 1: Melt the Chocolate Mixture

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the peanut butter, butter, and chocolate chips. Microwave for 1 minute, then stir until smooth and creamy. If needed, heat in additional 15-second intervals until fully melted. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 2: Coat the Cereal

Pour the 9 cups of Chex cereal into a large bowl with a lid (or use a large resealable bag). Drizzle the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal, then cover and shake gently until all pieces are evenly coated.

Step 3: Add the Powdered Sugar

Sprinkle the powdered sugar over the coated cereal. Cover and shake again until the cereal is fully dusted with sugar.

Step 4: Mix in the Easter Candy

Add Easter M&Ms and sprinkles, then toss lightly to distribute them throughout the mix.

Step 5: Let It Set

Spread the Easter Bunny Chow on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool and set for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
