Try it for your next dinner and watch the smiles appear.
200g (7 oz) fettuccine or pasta of choice
2 tbsp olive oil
200g (7 oz) sirloin steak, sliced thin
200g (7 oz) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Optional: a pinch of chili flakes for a little heat
Cook the pasta: Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Sear the steak: Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet. Sear steak slices 2–3 mins per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
Cook the shrimp: In the same pan, add 1 tbsp oil. Sauté shrimp 2–3 mins until pink. Set aside.
Make the sauce: Add garlic and onion to the pan. Sauté until soft. Pour in cream, bring to a gentle simmer, and stir in Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper.
Combine everything: Add pasta, steak, and shrimp to the sauce. Toss gently until well coated and heated through.
Serve hot: Garnish with fresh parsley (and a little extra cheese if you like).
Let the steak rest a few minutes before slicing—it keeps it juicy.
Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor.
Swap cream for half-and-half for a lighter version.
