Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Mix the base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, rice, broccoli, 1 cup of shredded cheddar, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly until everything is evenly coated and creamy.
  3. Assemble the casserole: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to smooth the top and ensure an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese over the surface for a gooey, golden topping.
  4. Optional crispy topping: If you’re using breadcrumbs or crushed crackers, mix them in a small bowl with the melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top layer of cheese for added crunch
