Cut Green Beans Preserved in Water

Description
Cut green beans preserved in water are fresh green beans that have been trimmed, cut into uniform pieces, and stored in water to maintain their color, texture, and freshness for later use. Green beans—also known as string beans or snap beans—are commonly used in soups, stews, stir-fries, and side dishes.

Ingredients

  • Fresh green beans (string beans / snap beans)

  • Clean drinking water

Instructions

  1. Wash the green beans thoroughly under running water to remove dirt and debris.

  2. Trim off the ends of the beans.

  3. Cut the beans into desired lengths (about 2–3 cm or as preferred).

  4. Bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch the cut green beans for 2–3 minutes.

  5. Immediately transfer the beans to cold or ice water to stop the cooking process.

  6. Drain well and place the beans into clean, airtight containers or jars.

  7. Cover completely with clean water.

  8. Seal and store in the refrigerator or preserve further according to your preferred method (such as canning).
